The Basics

We’ve been hosting Trivia every Wednesday at the Angry Scotsman taproom since 2019 (save for a pause in 2020 for you-know-what). The basic format is simple enough: 7 rounds of 10 questions plus a wager Final Trivia. Teams get to choose one round each week for Double/Bust – we’ll give you double points in that round, but a wrong answer busts out the whole round. Teams then get to wager up to 20 points on the Final Trivia question, a multi-answer brainbuster that can flip the scores around at the end.

Hosted by Ross, the Angry Scotsman himself, so expect some quality Dad jokes, a sprinkling of random factoids, and probably a late start.

Team Sizes

There’s no cap on team size, but we recommend six as a max to fit round a table. If you have more than 6 players there’s a -2 point penalty for each additional team member. Conversely, if you have a small team, you get a +2 point bonus for each player under the 6-count. Play solo, and you start with 10 points for free!

i.e. 6 players = 0 bonus/penalty, 8 players = -4 penalty, 3 players = +6 bonus, and so on

Prizes

Each week we award gift card prizes to the top 3 teams – $50, $25, and $10 respectively. The top 10 teams each week also score points for the League.

Table Reservations

We do not take table reservations for trivia. We can easily accommodate 15-16 teams, and we’re not beyond busting out the folding tables and chairs and squeezing more in. We recommend getting here early to secure your spot – it starts filling up around 6pm, and we’ve had a full house every week this year.
