The IMPULSE Rotating IPA series is brought to you by our relentless urge to brew another bold IPA. Maybe this is Peer Pressure, a One Hop Wonder, Industry Standard, or something else totally new. You won’t know unless you check in here for the date release info.

Release 13 – 06/23/2020

Unlucky #13 is a Belgian White IPA. Starting with a witbier base full of flaked wheat and oats, we added lemon zest, lemongrass, and coriander to the kettle. Whirlpool only bittering from Cascade and Lemondrop hops accentuate the light citrus spice. Fermentend with Belgian yeast and dry hopped with more Lemondrop.

Release 11 – 03/31/2020

Release #11 is a pilot batch of our tweaked New England IPA base, mixed up this time with experimental HBC-472 and Citra hops. Expect bold grapefruit, mango, and citrus, with interesting highlights of coconut and earthy wood. This should be kept refrigerated for maximum freshness, and enjoyed while it’s young.

Release 10 – 01/31/2020

Impulse #10 is inspired by our original Red IPA, beefed up to an Imperial monster. Simcoe, Columbus, and Amarillo hops bring a dank and piney dominance to a malty backbone of Munich and Red malts. Almost a barleywine, but not quite.

Release 9 – 11/26/2019

Release #9 is our scaled up anniversary release Hoppy Birthday. Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops, combined with Mango, Passion fruit, and Guava for that adult juice box experience! This should be kept refrigerated for maximum freshness, and enjoyed while it’s young.

Release 8 – 8/17/2019

Impulse #8 is a West Coast Double IPA featuring Centennial, Simcoe, and Columbus hops for old school dank and pine.

Release #7 pairs with our NEIPA with El Dorado, Mosaic, & Eukanot hops, for lots of tropical fruit and pineapple. This should be kept refrigerated for maximum freshness, and enjoyed while it’s young.

Release 6 – 5/18/2019

Impulse #6 is a wheatwine inspired Double IPA with 70% wheat in the grain bill for a fuller body, and copious Azacca and Eukanot hopping for juice pineapple and tropical fruit aromas.

Release 5 – 03/06/2019

Release #5 is New England crushable juice box all the way. We started with our base NEIPA recipe Peer Pressure, then added a ridiculous amount of mango puree, and even more Citra & Mosaic hops to push the juice to the max. This should be kept refrigerated for maximum freshness, and enjoyed while it’s young.

Release 4 – 02/01/2019

Resilience IPA
Brewed in collaboration with Sierra Nevada, Resilience [Butte County Proud] IPA is a a classic West Coast IPA in the Sierra Nevada style. A clean malt backbone with a touch of crystal malt sweetness, balanced with a bold bitterness from lots of Cascade and Centennial hops. All profits will be sent to the Camp Fire relief efforts.

Release 3 – 06/28/2018

We’re back with another Impulse IPA. Batch #3 is a nod to the original Double IPA: bold, bitter, and dangerously easy to drink. We’ve tweaked the hop profile on Industry Standard and taken it back to it’s roots with Columbus, Centennial, Simcoe, and Chinook. It’s our take on DIPA, drawing inspiration from Pliny the Elder and the original Ruination!

Release 2 – 05/17/2018

Once upon a time, our favorite Brewers Union taproom boss man, Benny Jacobs, was thirsty for a hazy, juicy New England-style IPA packed with papaya and mango. Benny Brew is the result. In a word, crushable.

Release 1 – 02/22/2018

The inaugural batch is a West Coast style Red IPA we call Redwood IPA. Pale and Vienna malts combined with a trifecta of C15, 40, and 120 caramel malts provide a malty backbone with sweet toffee highlights, while a touch of roasted barley adds a ruby hue. Generously hopped with Simcoe, Azacca, and Amarillo for strong grapefruit and citrus notes with a piney underpinning.
